“The Show” describes the feeling we all have of wanting someone to begin but feeling like the time will never come. Using the example of a musician like myself, the lyrics explore two perspectives. First, there is the concert goer waiting for the show to start. Then there are the performers themselves who wait for the day the big crowds will come to their shows. The instrumentation is made up largely of the same chord progression arpeggiated in different ways layered on top of each over a strong groove. There are also a few lead guitar parts and a B section with more of a rock feel. Basically there’s something for everybody to enjoy. Step right up and presave!

“Goin’ Up in Smoke” is possibly my favorite song I have written to date. Featuring leads from the acoustic and the electric guitar, this song is a constant balancing act between several sonic landscapes. The use of the harmonic minor scale makes it trickier, but I think I did a good job of balancing everything in a coherent way. These abnormalities are sure to get you interested, and the upbeat rock style will hopefully keep you engaged and coming back for more!
